image Following the success of the irrepressible.info launch in the UK, Soda has teamed up with Amnesty again to release an updated truly global version supporting multiple languages (currently English, French, Spanish with Arabic to follow soon). This is the second phase of irrepressible.info with an exciting third phase already in the making.

The update coincides with an Amnesty report about the role of Yahoo!, Microsoft and Google in internet repression in China. The report can be downloaded from irrepressible.info or Amnesty (see press release).

Please keep up the amazing support for this campaign so that we can keep making it even better! Also your feedback is much appreciated and will help shape the next phase of irrepressible.info.

great idea & i’m all for it but unable to use Javascript on myspace / blogs.
Any chance it could be souped up to generate a gif or translate the snippets into flash?

that’s great, but the js is limited. Can you provide specs for accessing the database, this would help adding modules to wordpress, drupal, joomla and the rest of the cms/blog software.

Looking at the javascript it shouldn’t be hard, but why code html scraping in order to style the block to fit nicely with the rest of the website, but why do the scraping.

Thank you for your input. We have received quite a few requests along these lines and have always planned to expand the functionality of irrepressible.info. With the internationalization now done we will implement some of these good ideas as soon as possible.

Hi Claudia,

we are hoping to make the banners with the censored data work on more systems soon. Until then I can only suggest to use the non dynamic buttons if the banners don’t work for you.

is there any update to this? i.e. an html coded banner?  the static buttons are fine, but i can’t put them on myspace and link to the website, and i don’t know enough html to do it myself on my blog…

thought i’d check since it’s been 9 mos since the last update on this
