This piece by Lucy Kimbell (former Soda member) uses the throwaway technology of ‘musical’ greetings cards to build an orchestra of voices.
Developed for the Lux Gallery’s second show in 1998, a wall covered in cards is controlled by a computer conducting the opening and closing of the cards (using small automated arms) producing a dissonant yet unified chorus.
