Sex Bots is one of Soda's Projects, profiled in February 02
Developed for the Channel 4 website, Sex Bots is an adult-targeted game in which users create promiscuous automata to compete in a pansexual play-scape.
Players design a bot and launch it into the Sex Bot world, where it uses it’s physical and verbal charms to get it on with as many other bots as possible. Sex Bots can be viewed in real-time interacting with each other, and they also carry on cruising independently of their creator, gathering sexual experiences and becoming more adventurous. Bots record ongoing kinky couplings as diary entries in their Black Book, and send their creators reports recalling their favourite lovers, via SMS or email.
The project uses Soda’s “artificial intercourse” technology to facilitate rich multi-user game-play without the problems of concurrency and latency common in networked gaming.
