Sodarace is a joint project between soda and Queen Mary University London supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council’s Partnerships for Public Awareness Awards.
Sodarace is the online olympics pitting human creativity against machine learning in a competition to construct virtual racing robots. Humans use the sodaconstructor interface to learn to construct handcrafted virtual robots. Artificial Intelligences, created by researchers the world over, use the Sodarace API (Application Programming Interface) to learn to construct computer-generated virtual robots. Robots created by both humans and Artificial Intelligences race against each other over simulated terrains and in the resulting Sodarace league we see how human creativity measures up against the best of machine learning.
